Portable diagnostic imaging is reserved for patients who would find it physically and/or psychologically taxing to travel to a fixed-site imaging center/hospital due to an illness, advanced age, or other circumstances. All imaging orders require a signed doctor’s order specifying the area being imaged, the number of views, and a reason the exam must be done portably.
